Best of 1993 Hip Hop Music Videos Mix [Part 1]

For the past couple of weeks I’ve been craving to get back on the turntables and do a classic hip hop music videos mix. I had taken a six month hiatus from making any updates to YouTube and Twitter (X), as I wanted to focus more energy on other things which bring me joy (family, video games, baseball, etc.). This past Sunday, I finally decided to do my first ever YouTube live stream with a “Best of 1993” mix! I figured I would spin for about 30 minutes but I realized I had only hit the tip of the iceberg at that point in the mix so I kept going… for a total of two hours! I appreciate everyone who joined the chat and provided so many kind words which kept me energized.

I broke this mix down into smaller chunks because YouTube blocked the full two hour version, so here is part 1 containing 20 incredible hip hop tracks that will take you back to the days of cheap vinyl, cassingles and Yo! MTV Raps/ Video Music Box.

Many will argue that 1993 is the best year for hip hop and it’s hard to disagree with this statement. While scratching, juggling and crafting this mix, I couldn’t believe how many incredible videos I was playing – each track seemed to be better than the next. The rhymes, production, visuals – all top notch. Hope you enjoy the mix as much as I did making it for YOU and if you do, please leave a comment!
