Kresnt previews album debut with Nani Beats-produced “Diamonds Forever”

Our weekly segment The Weekly Eight returns with the latest single from Vancouver-based recording artist, Kresnt.

The Nani Beats-produced “Diamonds Forever,” is the first single off Kresnt’s forthcoming album debut, Rumi’s Reflection, which will showcase his versatility as a musical artist as he speaks on his personal life.

The song has already reached the Top 25 on the album charts for Canadian hip-hop on iTunes with no signs of slowing down.

“Diamonds Forever,” features Toronto-based 808s and trap sounds; yet Kresnt’s subject matter will require a second listen. Known for his lyrics, the young Moon God who praises Eminem as the GOAT, takes the listener into a lyrical journey where he breaks down the obsession of an artist’s image in the clout culture:

“Oh my god they say they gone judge off appearance
So I rock the gear straight from the clearance
So when they say ‘damn, that this kid hot’
But the whole fit came straight from the thrift shop”

This song is more than just a hip-hop social mirror as the replay value is in Kresnt’s melody mixed in with his rapping.

Kresnt’s goal of becoming a pioneer in West Coast hip-hop is coming to fruition as he continues to stay true to his unique sound which is melodic music featuring punchline bars that you would normally find on a Kendrick Lamar album.

Kresnt’s last single with electro-pop group Dirty Radio amassed over 120K views since its early year release.

THE WEEKLY EIGHT INFO

Submission Sundays was a segment we introduced in 2018 to show love to the hundreds of artists and groups that submit new material to us weekly. The segment also gave us a chance to show love to people who weren’t already receiving regular coverage on HipHopCanada, and gave them a chance to connect with our viewers.

Towards the end of the year, we relaunched Submission Sundays as The Weekly Eight, with the same objective to help artists grow.

Each week, we’ll select 8 new submissions and feature them on our homepage for at least a 24 hour period.

To be considered for The Weekly Eight segment, please submit your content using our Submission Form. International submissions are welcome.

Please note, due to the volume of submissions we receive, we are unable to respond to each submission directly. Submissions with missing information will be deleted.
